Marcus Kinhult has captured the Betfred British Masters. After making bogey at the 15th and 16th holes in the final round to lose the lead at Hillside Golf Club, the Swedish player recovered with birdies at 17 and 18 to claim a one stroke victory and his first ever European Tour title.
Kinhult formerly represented the Continent of Europe in the 2014 Jacques Léglise Trophy, where he scored 2.5 points out of 4 in his team's narrow loss to Great Britain & Ireland in Sweden.
I’ve been dreaming about this for such a long time,” Kinhult said. “ Over that last putt my knees were shaking, my hands were shaking, everything was shaking. I don’t know how I managed it.”
