After the completion of round 2 early on Friday, round 3 of the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship got underway. The leaders teed off in the afternoon, but once again, they had to head back to the club-house sooner than expected. Bad weather and the threat of lightning showed up in Frankfurt, and play had to be suspended at 6.13 pm, and only resumed for one hour of play at twilight.

Paula Martin Sampedro from Spain proved to be the highlight of this late session. Already sitting at -13 when the rain started pouring, the recently crowned Women's Amateur Champion carded four birdies following her return to the golf course. She will tee off the 16th on Saturday morning as the solo leader, with a three-shot advantage.

Her closest opponent will be her compatriot Balma Davalos, who scored her final birdie of the day on the 13th to reach -15. Sara Brentcheneff sits one shot behind at five under for the round, with roughly one third of the course to complete on Saturday.

Also with a score of -5 for the round is Sweden’s Meja Örtengren, still in the mix with a total of -13.

The players of the final group will have 25 holes of golf to complete on day 4, which means the 2025 European Ladies’ Amateur Championship is far from over.
