The current course was designed in 1938, by the famous golf course architects Harry colt and C.H. Alison. Although Alison was responsible for most of the design, as evidenced by the slightly larger bunkers and more extreme nature, the course is still counted as one of the finest Colt designed courses in Europe.

The course was laid by Copijn of Groenekan.

History

The Junior Vagliano Trophy is an annual international golf match between elite female junior (U16) players from the Continent of Europe and Great Britain & Ireland.

Organised by the EGA and The R&A, the match is contested over two days with teams of six players. Originally played every other year alongside the Vagliano Trophy, the match has been contested annually since 2020 and is contested parallel to the Jacques Léglise Trophy in even years.

Since its inauguration in 2011, the Continent of Europe has been dominant, winning the first seven editions. GB&I secured in a tie in 2023 before winning the match for the first time in 2024.
