History
The European Senior Men’s Championship is an annual golf tournament for male amateur players aged 50 and over, first held in 1996. Organised by the EGA, it takes place alongside the European Senior Ladies’ Championship at various European venues each June.
The event consists of three rounds of stroke play, with medals awarded to the top three finishers and a special prize for the best player over 60.
A nations' cup was played at the event from 2000 through 2005, although was discontinued with the introduction of the European Senior Men's Team Championship in 2006.
