Oddur GC

Iceland as a golf destination is a well kept secret in the golfing world. With over 60 golf clubs and 16.000 members, Iceland has a lot to offer for the golf enthusiast. One of the gems in this flora of golf courses is Oddur Golf Club.

It is located in the municipality of Garðabær, in the outskirts of Reykjavík. It only takes 20 minutes to drive to Oddur Golf Club, from Reykjavik city center. The club operates two courses, Urriðavöllur, 18 hole championship course and Ljúflingur, a 9 hole par 3 course.

History

The European Girls’ Team Championship is an annual event for U18 girls, involving EGA member countries. It has been held annually since 1999, featuring around 20 teams competing over five days. 

The format includes two days of stroke play followed by three days of match play to compete for medals or final positions. Spain is the most successful team with 9 wins, followed by Sweden (8) and France (4). 

Notable former participants include Suzann Pettersen, Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Masson, Carlota Ciganda, Charley Hull, Pernilla Lindberg, Georgia Hall, Céline Boutier, Madalene Sagström, Sophia Popov, Mel Reid, Matila Castren, Leona Maguire, Nanna Koerstz Madsen, Maja Stark, Linn Grant, and Jessica Korda.
