The former EGA Championship Committee member carded his second consecutive under-par score on Day 2 to reach -4 for the tournament. Rupert Kellock (ENG), the Round 1 leader, made four bogeys on his inward-nine on Day 2 to drop back to -1.
2019 champion, Mattias Pernheden (SWE), sits alone in third place, five shots back on +1.
In the ladies' competition, Australia's Sue Wooster managed to maintain her lead in Round 2. A second successive round of 75 (+3) put her on +6 for the tournament, three shots ahead of Denmark's Lotte Greve (+9).
Three-time champion, Macarena Campomanes (ESP), sits six shots back in a three-way tie for third with Switzerland's Sophie Ducrey and Sweden's Anna Lundin on +12.
