The qualification process for the 2024 European PING Junior Solheim Cup team has been confirmed by the Ladies' European Tour.
Twelve of Europe’s brightest young female golfers aged 18 and under will look for a third straight win against the USA at the Army Navy Country Club, Arlington on 8-10 September, 2024, ahead of the Women's main event.
The European Team will be made up of the leading six players from the PING Junior Solheim Cup Rankings, who will earn automatic selection, and six picks by a captain still to be announced.
The 2024 PING Junior Solheim Cup Rankings will consist of nine selected international amateur events in Europe. The Qualifying Ranking will kickoff at the Portuguese International Ladies' Amateur Championship at the end of January, and will climax with The European Ladies' Amateur Championship in Finland at the end of July.
Three of the nine selected events will be EGA Championships. On top of the European Ladies' Amateur as the final event, players will also be able to score points towards selection for Team Europe in the stroke play qualifying rounds of the European Ladies' and Girls' Team Championships, to be contested in Spain and Sweden respectively next summer.
“The schedule of nine qualifying events across Europe in 2024 leading up to the PING Junior Solheim Cup at the historic Army Navy Country Club – Arlington, is sure to be exciting,” said John Solheim, Executive Chairman PING.
“These qualifying events will bring out the top female junior players as they compete to earn a spot on the European PING Junior Solheim Cup team, and once again defend the trophy they triumphantly won in Spain in 2023.
“So many of the young players in the PING Junior Solheim Cup have continued on to play in the Solheim Cup, and we are looking forward to seeing more players do the same. We will be following the rankings with great interest as the team forms over the next year and we look forward to personally meeting all the players next September in Virginia, USA.”
Alexandra Armas, CEO of the Ladies European Tour, said: “The PING Junior Solheim Cup provides an excellent opportunity for the top 12 European female amateur golfers to gain experience in international matches, as well as to meet, learn from and be inspired by the professional players who will compete in the Solheim Cup.
“Playing in the PING Junior Solheim Cup gives the players an opportunity to set them on the road to being the stars of the future with so many former players competing on the LET and LPGA.
"It's been an historic time for Team Europe after they won in the United States for the first time ever in 2021 and also defended the trophy for the first time ever in Spain a few months ago. With the qualifying events announced, I look forward to seeing how the team shapes up for 2024."
To be eligible for selection, players must be female, amateur golfers, and born on 1 January 2006 or later. Players must also be European citizens (as per IGF National Policy) and not enrolled in a competitive collegiate golf program.

The PING Junior Solheim Cup is a team matchplay competition between Europe and the United States, each team featuring the best 12 female golfers born 2006 and later (18 years and younger).
The competition consists of 24 matches – six foursome matches, six fourball matches and 12 single matches.
The aim of the competition is to give juniors the opportunity to further their golfing careers by playing matchplay at a high level and also for the competitors to meet, learn and be inspired by the professional players playing in The Solheim Cup.
The 2024 event marks the 13th time the PING Junior Solheim Cup team will be contested, with the U.S. Team currently leading the series 7-4-1. In 2023, Europe produced a stellar performance to defend the trophy winning 15-9 at La Zagaleta, Spain.
