Hilversumsche Golf Club and the Royal Netherlands Golf Federation have been selected to host the 2027 European Ladies' Team Championship.
The five-day amateur event, which has a history dating back to 1959, will be contested in the Netherlands next July.
The championship was recently contested at PGA National Slieve Russell in Ireland, with Spain claiming the gold medals among a record 22 participating nations.
Founded in 1895, Hilversumsche Golf Club is one of the most distinguished clubs in the Netherlands. It is a links style heathland course with a rich history. The current location on the Soestdijkerstraatweg in Hilversum was acquired in 1917, and in 1928 the course was expanded to 18 holes using a design by the well-known architect Sir Harry Colt.
The course, regularly ranked among the world's top 100, has played host to 27 Dutch Opens, a record that places it among the most significant championship venues in Dutch golf. The venue also hosted the European Amateur Team Championship in 2020, and the Junior Vagliano Trophy the following year. Set within a forested landscape of beech, oak, pine, spruce and birch, the course's strategically placed bunkers and subtly contoured greens combine to test players of every level..
Hilversumsche GC will join a impressive list of venues to have previously hosted the event, including Golf de Chantilly, Royal County Down, Wentworth, Sotogrande, Villa d'Este and many others. This will mark the third time the championship is played in the Netherlands, following 1965 and 1993, both at Royal Hague.
Many of the biggest names in European women's golf competed in the European Ladies' Team Championship prior to turning professional, including Annika Sörenstam, Suzann Pettersen, Anna Nordqvist, Céline Boutier and Maja Stark. Next year, the stars of the future in European women's golf will compete for the team title at this storied venue.
