France's Golf St Germain en Laye win the 2016 European Men's Club Trophy wire-to-wire at 15-under par.
After two days, all looked as if the three Frenchmen would prevail comfortably at Aroeira Golf Club in Portugal. However, the final day was filled with excitement and Golf St Germain decided the tight race for the trophy by one shot. Scotland's Balmore Golf Club started an impressive comeback led by Chris Maclean who recorded six birdies on the last ten holes.
The players from Balmore GC took home the silver medal and Germany's GC Hubbelrath placed third, four shots behind the leaders.
The Scot Chris Maclean and the German Nicolai von Dellingshausen tied for first place in the individual ranking at 208 strokes, 8-under par.
Despite some weather delays, also during the final round, the playing condtions on the 6.044m long Par-72 Aroeira I course were superb throughout the week.
The 2017 European Men's Club Trophy will be played from 26 to 28 October next year. The venue is still to be announced.
