History

The European Boys’ Team Championship, first played in 1980, is an annual team golf event contested by six-player teams of U18 boys from EGA member countries.

The trophy carries the name of Jean-Louis Dupont, a renowned French amateur champion and former president of the EGA and French Golf Federation.

The tournament features two days of stroke play followed by three days of match play, where teams compete for medals or to maintain their position in Division 1.

The event has seen most of Europe's biggest golfing stars represent their countries, including every European major champion since 2010. Notable former participants include Ludvig Åberg, Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Nicolai & Rasmus Hojgaard, Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick, Francesco Molinari, Martin Kaymer, Shane Lowry, and Justin Rose among many others.
