History

The European Amateur Team Championship, first held in 1959, is one of the oldest tournaments in the European Golf Association's roster and is contested annually by 16 national teams. The event features two days of stroke play followed by three days of match play, with teams competing for medals or to avoid relegation to Division 2. England has the most victories with 11, followed by Scotland (8), Ireland (6), and Spain (6).
