The EGA is delighted to confirm an exciting list of events and venues for its upcoming championship season.
Between international matches, individual championships and team championships, the EGA’s 2025 season will see 32 trophies contested at 21 events in 16 different countries.
INTERNATIONAL MATCHES
The season will kick off in January for the first time, with a new date for the Bonallack and Patsy Hankins Trophy matches between the best amateur players of Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region. A star-studded lineup of elite amateurs will be hosted by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation at Al Hamra Golf Club in the UAE from 10-12 January.
The two international matches will be the first of six for European or Continent of Europe teams next year, which will also contest the Vagliano (Women’s) and Junior Vagliano (U16 Girls) Trophies in the Netherlands, the St Andrews Trophy (Men’s) in Madrid and the Jacques Léglise Trophy (Boys’) in Belgium. These four matches, between the Continent of Europe and Great Britain & Ireland, will be played at some of the highest-rated and most prestigious golf courses on the continent, namely Royal Hague Golf & Country Club (NED), Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro (ESP) and the Royal Golf Club of Belgium (BEL).
INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
11 European Individual titles will be up for grabs next year, starting with the European Mid-Amateur Championships (25+) from 5 to 7 June in Portugal. The European Senior Championships will be contested a week later in Turkey, while the EGA’s flagship individual men’s championship will be held at Vasatorps GK (SWE) at the end of the same month.
Many of the world’s best female amateur players will head to Germany and Frankfurter Golf Club from 23 to 26 July for the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship, while the continent’s best U16 players will gather at RCF La Boulie in France on the same week for the European Young Masters.
The European Individual Championship for Golfers with Disability, played biennially across from the team event and organised in collaboration with EDGA, will be held in late August next season. Three European titles will be up for grabs at Bokskogens GK (SWE) in the Men’s, Women’s and Seated categories.
TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2025 European Team Championship ‘week’ will take place from 8 to 12 July. The European Amateur, Ladies’, Boys’, Girls’ and Division 2 events will all be held simultaneously across the continent at some outstanding venues.
The men will compete at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club in Ireland, the women at Golf de Chantilly in France, the Boys’ at Golf Resort Kaskada Brno in the Czech Republic, the girls at Slaley Hall in England and finally the Division 2 event for men and boys at Zala Springs in Hungary.
European Team Championships will also be contested in the Mid-Amateur and Senior categories. The Senior men will head to the famous Diamond Country Club in Austria on the first week of September, while the women compete at Pula Golf Resort in Spain concurrently. The second editions of the European Mid-Amateur Team Championships will be held together at Golf Club Empordà in Spain the following week.
The European Team Shield Championships, designed for small and emerging golfing nations of Europe, will be staged at Pravets Golf Club in Bulgaria, a regular host of EGA events, at the end of July.
The season will close with the European Men’s and Ladies’ Club Trophies for the continent’s national-champion clubs of the year at Cabot Bordeaux (FRA) and Green Resort Hrubá Borsa (SVK) respectively.
