For the third consecutive year, Sweden will play in the final of the European Ladies´ Team Championship. This year on home soil, they will face Germany who edged out Denmark in the semifinal.
SWEDEN vs. SWITZERLAND
First off in the medal matches this brisk fall morning was Sweden and Switzerland. When the sun decided to show up it turn out to be one beautiful day on the golf course.
Early in the foursomes, the duo from Switzerland was up, at the turn it was all level, and then Sweden made their move.
It was a solid performance from Beatrice Wallin and Maja Stark that ended in spectacular fashion. At the 17th, a drivable par-4, Stark hit the flagstick with her tee shot and that sealed the win for Sweden.
In the first single match, Linn Grant started strongly and never let go of the lead. She won her match with a two-putt birdie on the 16th hole.
World No. 2, Ingrid Lindblad, played at the anchor position for Sweden and closed her match on the 15th 4/3.
GERMANY vs. DENMARK
Amalie Leth-Nissen played some great golf and put one early point on the board for Denmark.
It was not to be enough with Germany winning the foursome 3/2 and the last single 4/3. This put Germany in the championship match where they will face defending champions Sweden.
Both teams will field the same line-up in the championship match as they did in the semifinal.
