Team Spain is the gold medalist at the 2025 European Ladies’ Team Championship. The Spaniards emerged victorious from the final against this week’s home team France, overcoming a big deficit in the afternoon singles.
France was able to create separation first by winning the two morning foursomes. Constance Fouillet and Golf de Chantilly member Valentine Delon secured the opening match over Paula de Francisco and Paula Martin Sampedro, with a brilliant birdie on the long par-3 16th.
It took many more holes to make the decision in match number 2, as Sara Brentcheneff and Camille Min-Gaultier birdied holes 17 and 18 to extend the session. The French pairing came out with yet another birdie on the 21st, where Andrea Revuelta still stood with a chance for a half. But even she could barely believe her putt didn’t drop.
With their back against the wall, the Spaniards showed their ability to bounce back in the afternoon singles. Holding the lead in all of the five contests with six or less to play, they scored two quick points by Paula Martin Sampedro and Cayetana Fernandez. Carolina Lopez-Chacarra put her team one point short of victory, edging Min-Gaultier 4&2. This meant Paula de Francisco Liano had the opportunity to end the championship in her match against Constance Fouillet, and did so on the 16th green.
Germany was able to secure 3rd place against Sweden in the bronze medal contest, as France records its second runner-up finish in a row. Spain reclaims a title only two years after its last victory in Finland.
