The first course was designed in 1971, the year the Club was founded, by architect Robert Trent Jones Senior, renowned all around the world for the ability with which he harmonically sets golf courses in their natural surroundings.

Seamlessly blending with La Mandria Regional Park, the course is defined by an innovative style of bunkers and water obstacles, and by the position of its greens and hazards, which encourage the adoption of a more careful game strategy.
