Lausanne, March 2016: The European Golf Association is delighted to announce the partnership with Investec Bank (Switzerland) AG, beginning in 2016 and running initially for two years.
Investec Switzerland offers truly innovative global wealth management and banking solutions to its clients. Investec is a strong supporter of sports historically and is happy to provide more grassroots golf sponsorship.
The EGA is providing Europe’s top amateur golfers with the infrastructure to compete at the highest level, which is usually an important step in a professional’s career. In trying to fulfil their potential many progress to the professional tours. Playing golf at the highest global level involves financial investment and it is important to make the players conscious of their responsibility to plan long-term and manage the financial side of their careers early-on. Investec’s knowledge and experience will help EGA to create this awareness.
Furthermore, the EGA believes that its members, the National Golf Authorities, can benefit from the partnership and Investec’s global skill set in managing assets.
EGA General Secretary Richard Heath says: “We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Investec Switzerland as a partner of the EGA. While the pressures involved in competitive sport are obvious, those faced by the players and their families are less so as well as potentially being more diverse depending on any player’s background, location and aspirations. Sound financial management can help to alleviate the pressures experienced when playing and can help to open opportunities. Our partnership with Investec aims to create earlier awareness of a player’s responsibilities to better assist themselves. We hope our member NGAs will also benefit.”
The EGA looks forward to a successful collaboration with Investec in the future.
