James Crampton has won the 2022 European Senior’s Championship held at Pärnu Bay Golf Links, Estonia.
The English player entered the final day with a three-shot lead, having been the only player to card two scores under-par in the opening two rounds.
In the final round, Sweden’s Mattias Pernheden was Crampton's biggest challenger. Pernheden, the 2019 champion, made four birdies early in the round, but a quadruple-bogey 8 on the 9th hole ended his challenge.
Mattias Pernheden (SWE) was ultimately awarded the silver medal on +2, three shots behind, and Edward Richrdson (ENG) the bronze on +3.
In the Ladies’s championship, Sue Wooster claimed the title. The Australian player took an early lead over the field after an opening round score of 75 (+3).
Wooster started day two with one birdie and continued to lead the second day with another score of 75 (+3). In the final round, the Australian carded one birdie in 17th hole to finish with a 3rd 75, the lowest score of the day, and claim the title by eight strokes on a total of +9. She becomes the first Australian player to win the title in the event's history.
Lotte Greve (DEN) was awarded the silver medal with a total of +17, and Anna Lunding (SWE) the bronze on +18.
