On 14 and 15 October, the EGA, together with the German Golf Association (DGV), proudly hosted the 2025 Sustainable Golf Forum in Frankfurt.
Forty-four delegates representing twenty-two different countries came together to share ideas, explore solutions, and strengthen collaboration on sustainability in European golf.
This year’s theme, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), inspired engaging discussions and thought-provoking presentations, with several federations highlighting innovative national projects already making a tangible impact on the ground.
A highlight of the two-day forum was the in-depth exploration of the EGA’s Sustainable Turfgrass Roadmap, where participants collaborated to shape a more resilient and environmentally responsible future for European turf management.
Sincere thanks go to all delegates and experts who contributed their knowledge and enthusiasm, including guests from The R&A and the EGA’s partners GEO and BURSON, and especially to the DGV for co-hosting the event. The conversations and connections made in Frankfurt continue to drive European golf forward on its sustainability journey.
Building on its longstanding involvement in environmental issues and the renewed sustainability drive launched in 2024, the Sustainable Golf Forum represents an important aspect in strengthening the EGA’s role in sustainability. With 49 member associations, the EGA is ideally placed to align commitments and pathways across European golf.
Its role focuses on three action areas: coordinate (bringing members together for shared impact), develop (promoting knowledge, best practice and tools), and advocate (representing golf’s commitments and progress at EU level). This work is being advanced through a collaborative structure of expert working groups, ensuring the EGA plays its most effective part in supporting members.
